About District 4 - City of South Fulton, GA
We are an agricultural, rural, suburban and commercial district. Industrial development in other cities is close to some areas of our district. Citizens have told me that they do not want residential and industrial development to co-exist.

A Comprehensive Plan includes the vision for future growth and development for government. It also includes major community input and provides guidance for elected officials on planning decisions.
Zoning determines what goes on the land. The type of development, building size and placements, open and greenspace, etc., is important. Citizens also play a role in making zoning decisions. Whenever citizens receive information to attend zoning meetings they should so they can be involved. Speak up, be informed, hold me, yourself, and our community accountable.

Public Health research related to environmental stressors like air pollution, all night lighting, and noise, in close proximity to industrial development is associated with chronic diseases.
The following four areas are included in the City of South Fulton's Comprehensive Plan:

Agricultural Neighborhood
This area is very low density, with large open spaces. There are single family homes and conservation areas that include horses, timber, and livestock farming. Civic uses include: schools and places of worship with appropriate infrastructure. Some areas may or may not have proper sewer connectivity.

Rural Neighborhood
This area transitions between agricultural and suburban. It has low to medium density, residential and single family homes on large and small lots, and newer subdivisions. The natural environment is protected with conservation development that maintains the rural scale and design of this area.

Suburban Neighborhood

This area offers a range of affordable housing and the preservation of the surrounding natural agricultural and rural areas. This area is also close to urbanized areas and has medium density. Civic uses in this area includes schools, places of worship, community centers, and commercial development. Local work businesses, includes banks, drug stores, small multi-tenant shopping centers, and office space. Historic communities are considered in terms of size and scale.

Industrial Zone

This area accommodates most industrial uses while limiting their impact on surrounding neighborhoods. It has the highest intensity of industrial uses and requires the most stringent regulations and site control. Industrial parks and standalone industrial developments are typical. The uses can include wholesale trade distribution centers, manufacturing, and large scale distribution centers. Appropriate commercial uses that serve the industrial areas are allowed. Residential use is not appropriate in this area.
